Jamie's Anime Links

All of these sites offer Japanese anime in Japanese with English subtitles unless otherwise stated. There are some you have to register for but I have only included sites that I download from so you can trust them not to spam your inbox.

Wiki A general site worth visiting is Wikipedia. Not only does it have articles on Anime itself, but if you have a specific title in mind, it will often have an article on it. This can be a movie (Howl's Moving Castle) or a media franchise such as Sailor Moon or whatever contributors think worth creating an article on.
Anime News Network Anime News Network   Anime -  News and Reviews
ANN Australia Anime News Network,  Australia   As above, Aussie style
T.H.E.M. Anime Reviews
Anime reviews. A good site. I get a good idea of what to watch (out of what has been recommended to me elsewhere) on here
Fatso Fatso are an on-line DVD rental company - no time limit but you are limited on how many out at once, etc. This is the legal way to get DVDs (other than your local DVD store.)  Downloading stuff in competition with a commercial distributor is illegal. You can check on Fatso if it is NZ available. Rarer stuff - check out overseas on-line stores. Avoid P2P like the plague.
Sites below are live-action (on-screen micro video that really are ads for full blown DVDs) as well as downloadable. If stuff is commercially available to an NZer, you cannot legally download.
NYA NYA Fan Subs
Mostly live action but there are a few anime series here if you look for 'em.  Give this one a miss if you are uninterested in live action Japanese series.
