KIDS FRIENDLY
St.Margaret’s congregation is intentionally committed to being a
Kids Friendly Church.
We value and celebrate children and young people and encourage their participation in our church family.
Our activities are constantly reviewed as we explore opportunities to reach and serve the young people and families of our church and community.
Kids Friendly is an initiative of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa that recognises the vital contribution children and families make to healthy congregations and aims to equip churches to intentionally minister to children and families. The Kids Friendly Coach offers advice, training, coaching and “best practice” resources to all Presbyterian and Uniting churches.
Messy Church
What is it? It’s a different way of “doing church” with families in our community. St. Mark’s in Lower Hutt have a session once a month where everyone shares activities, a very brief “church” and a meal, based on a theme. We at St. Margaret’s plan to have one event per term. Our first event was on Friday 24th June and was very successful with 100 people of all ages attending.
