For The Rider
Horses are the essential element in both the therapeutic and structured riding programmes, providing the key to improved physical, mental and emotional well being.

For the child with emotional or behavioural problems, the horse is a patient, and kind friend, and a partner to ride towards improved self-esteem and confidence.
The child in a wheelchair is elevated to a new world of sights and movement–muscles are warmed and stretched, limbs are exercised and walking is replicated through the movement of the horse. For those with learning difficulties, riding provides challenges–small goals are achieved with encouragement from others and a gentle co-operation of their pony. Riding sessions are eagerly awaited and are something special for the rider to participate in which makes them the envy of all their friends.
Horse, helper and rider become a team who work together through highs and lows to achieve an improved quality of life for the rider.
