Rape Crisis is not a Crisis only service. Many of our clients are survivors of Historical Rape, our Agency provides Counselling to women men & adolescents who have suffered sexual violence, whether it has recently occurred or in the past.

  • POLICE INITIATED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE Examinations by authorised DSAC doctors(Doctors for Sexual Abuse Care) Support during medical process
     
  • SUPPORT with reporting to the Police and the Court Process
     
  • INFORMATION / SUPPORT for victims, family, friends
     
  • CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE
    COUNSELLING ACC
    Counsellors available
     
  • CRISIS CO-ORDINATOR is available to speak to community groups,schools.. In regard to sexual abuse/rape, harassment, etc
     
  • ADVOCACY -when dealing with other agencies such as:

         Rape/Sexual Abuse is any sort of unwanted sexual touching or
       attention. It may vary from verbal threats, to touching and fondling,
       oral sex, penetration, It may also include bribes.


      
         Definition:

  • Sexual Violation:
    Includes both Rape and Unlawful Sexual Connection

     
  • Rape:
    Remains an offence committed by a male offender on a female victim

     
  • Unlawful Sexual Connection:
    Any other types of unwanted sexual connection without consent.
    Unlawful sexual connection is a gender neutral offence.
